![]() ![]() ASM3242 integrates ASMedia self-designed PCI Express/SuperSpeed USB/USB2.0 PHY, supporting in box driver of Microsoft® Windows and various Linux kernels. It uses advance process with low voltage supply, following standard PCI Express/USB Link power management and advance chip power management to reduce total power consumption efficiently under idle/standby state. ASM3242 supports one USB3.2 20Gbps port and perform trusting high speed bandwidth with PCI Express Gen3 x4. ASMedia ASM3242 also supports the function of Multiple INs to achieve fully utilization rate of 20Gbps data rate, taking advantage of the available bandwidth of USB3.2 Gen2 x2 bus. It also supports backward compatible with legacy USB function and devices, compliant with USB Attach SCSI Protocol revision 1.0, supporting the function of debugport on USB3.2 port. The chipset on my card is ASM1142, and I don't know if this will work with other chipsets or with other devices with ASMedia chipsets.ASMedia ASM3242 is a Universal Serial Bus xHCI host controller, bridging PCI Express to USB3.2 20Gbps, compliant with USB3.2 Specification Revision 1.0 and Intel eXtensible Host Controller Interface specification revision 1.1. I read that many people have had Link issues with ASMedia USB controllers, so maybe this will be helpful info. Uninstalling from Device Manager didn't do the trick because the USB controller just reappeared, along with the ASMedia driver that didn't work with Link. After that the driver was replaced by Microsoft's driver, and Oculus Link started to work. I had to uninstall the ASMedia driver by going to "Add or Remove Programs" in Windows, and from there uninstall " Asmedia ASM104x USB3.0 Host Controller Driver" (or similar). I searched for advice, and some people said that "use the Windows drivers instead", but I didn't know where and how to install them.įinally I found the solution. But afterwards the Oculus app just flatly refused to recognize my Quest. The card has an ASMedia chipset, so of course I figured that I should install a driver provided by ASMedia. So I also got a PCIe card to add a USB-C port to my PC. I recently bought the official link cable but my computer didn't have a USB-C port. ![]()
